Volunteers Welcome! We are especially in need of on-site help when we give away books to large numbers of people (especially schools and aftercare programs), book donation drivers, and folks who can promote our give-away events in their neighborhood. Help us get the word out so even more people can benefit from our great selection of free books. We also need support with other jobs utilizing your unique talents. Book
Donation Delivery Driver
Pick up
boxes of book donations from various collection sites throughout Sonoma County
and bring them to our storage site in west Sebastopol. Must have reliable
personal vehicle and be able to lift and easily handle 40 lb. boxes.
Only requires a commitment of one
half-day per month.
Book Drive
Coordination
Solicit
donations of books from friends, neighbors, co-workers, classmates, or others.
Run a drive for general collection or specific types of books that we need most
for our shelves. Best volunteer option
for youth!
On-Site
Event Greeter & Help
Help greet
and inform our patrons at large public events, coordinate the flow of patrons
with bookmobile staff, and help children find what they’re looking for on our
shelves at high-volume schools and camps.
Event
Promotion
Adopt a
neighborhood we visit or a whole town!
Coordinate through community hubs, online sites and local media to
promote our upcoming visits. Help even more people benefit from our great
selection of free books.
Graphic/Web
Design
Assist us
with professional-level graphic design and layout for promotional materials,
both print and digital. We are also looking for upgrades to our website by an
experienced designer.
General
Assistance
Assisting
the staff with cleaning, book handling, and other assorted tasks at our west
Sebastopol storage site. Must be able to lift and easily handle 40 lb.
